【April Orientation】

JET Programme participants from Brazil, China, Korea and Peru arrive and begin their one year contracts in the beginning of April each year. (Participants from all other countries arrive in July/August and attend the Tokyo Orientation.)

In order to help these participants with the transition from life in their home country to living in Japan and to facilitate a smooth adjustment into the workplace, CLAIR, MIC, MEXT and MOFA, hold a two day orientation in Tokyo.

During the orinetation new JET Programme participants get the chance to meet with current 2nd or 3rd year JET participants and to hear firsthand about the difficulties and rewards of working in a Japanese school or local government office. Furthermore, new participants will be able to hear from other speakers and Japanese supervisors, hearing about expectations and duties from their respective orgainsations.
