If you have problems informing the Service Center of the accident or injury, or dealing with claim procedures you may contact the “SOMPO JAPAN Hotline” where English-speaking staff can help you. If you cannot speak to an operator immediately, you will be contacted later by telephone or mail.
Please refer to the following table to ascertain whether to call the “SOMPO JAPAN Hotline” or CLAIR / JETLINE with queries.
Please note that questions about personal reimbursement cannot be answered directly, but will be answered later by phone or by mail by the SOMPO JAPAN Service Center.

Proof of Policy
(1) Proof of Policy
SOMPO JAPAN can issue a proof of insurance coverage. Please contact CLAIR to get such a document. It takes about one week to issue such a document.
(2) Contents of the proof of coverage
Policy Documents (Pamphlet, Declaration of Beneficiary etc)
(1) JET Accident Insurance Pamphlet (pamphlet)
a．New-comers, the pamphlet is distributed at the post-arrival orientation
(For late-comers, the pamphlet is sent directly to the Contracting Organizations)
b．Re-contracting JETs: the pamphlet is sent at the same time as the JET Programme Japanese Language Course Guidebook

（2）JET Accident Insurance Declaration of Beneficiary
The JET participant is able to designate their beneficiaries through filling in the Declaration of Beneficiary. Payments are thus facilitated. LAIR asks the participants at the Tokyo Orientation to submit their Declaration of Beneficiary to Host Prefecture / Designated City as soon as possible.
a．New-comers: the Declaration of Beneficiary is included in the pamphlet
b．Re-contracting JETs do not need to re-submit the Declaration

Deadline for submission is decided by each Host Prefecture / Designated City, but general dates are:

（2）July/August Arrivals: end of September
